Turbo Esprit — это такой гоночный автомобиль от компании Lotus, способный развивать большие скорости и обладающий узнаваемым дизайном, который характерен для спортивных автомобилей восьмидесятых. De Lorean, Lamborghini, Lotus… эх, были же времена, когда каждый автомобиль имел свой характер.
В этой игре на ZX Spectrum от компании Durell вам предстоит разъезжать на этом быстром автомобиле по улицам одного из четырех городов, который вы выбираете в начале игры. Играя роль оперативника, вы преследуете автомобиль с наркотиками и стараетесь перехватить четыре автомобиля прикрытия, чтобы затем, заметив момент передачи наркотических средств, опознать автомобили и заблокировать их движение. Игра ведется от первого лица. Вы сидите в кабине, а перед вами отображаются дома и соседние машины. Необходимо хотя бы минимально соблюдать правила дорожного движения, чтобы не попасть в ДТП. Ведь при сильном столкновении с другими автомобилями, ваша машина взрывается.
Управление в игре простое. S/A — газ/тормоз, J/L — перестроиться в левую/правую полосы, K — огонь из пушки, а J+K/L+K — повернуть за угол на перпендикулярную улицу. M — карта.
Карта необходима для того, чтобы определять свое положение в городе, а также расположение и направление движения автомобилей-целей. В низу экрана вам то и дело передают сообщения, что автомобиль преступников обнаружен в том или ином районе города. Вам нужно не упустить момент и догнать их.
Самая действенная тактика в игре «Turbo Epsrit» — с самого начала двинуться в центр города и там, кружась по улицам, дождаться сообщения и сразу же ехать к месту предполагаемого расположения бандитов. Так ваш путь до любой точке города будет короче, а значит, вы быстрее справитесь с заданием.

INTRODUCTION
Four smugglers' cares are meeting an armoured car carrying drugs - you must stop them and their cargo,
and stop the armoured car after it has made its last drop. You score points for capturing the smugglers
alive and lose points for shooting innocent motorists. Obey traffic lights, avoid road-works and watch out
for pedestrian crossings.

STEERING
You can use the decrease speed key to reverse and execute three point turns.
TACTICS
Using the map, go to the city centre and wait for the smugglers' cars. The supply car circles the block
after the "Drugs Exchanged" message, follow the delivery car and bump it into submission - don't stop for
anything!

THE MAP
Flashing circles indicate your car, and those of the smugglers. Petrol pumps indicate garages. Four dots
at junctions indicate traffic lights and arrows alongside road indicate one-way streets.
STREET NAMES
Streets are given by map reference eg. "E.9" is the ninth street going east-west. "N.7" is the seventh
street going north-south.
MESSAGES
These will advise you of the game status.
STOPPING THE SMUGGLERS' CARS
You will score more points for "bumping" the smugglers' cars than for shooting them. Bump the smuggler
more than four times (but not in a queue) and he will surrender. You can't bump the armoured car. You
can also stop the smugglers by chasing them into a dead end. Remember, the smugglers are aware of
your position, so wait for them out of sight, using the map, until the exchange is made.
HIT CARS
These will shoot at you if they pass on your right. You can shoot them or bump them for extra points.
FUEL, GARAGES AND NEW CARS
To refuel, drive to a garage and park on the pavement alongside. Your fuel gauge will show when you
have refueled. If you run out of fuel or your car is incapacitated, you will get a new car. You can repair
your car by stopping at a garage.
